Recently  met 2 Ladakhis in Doon; duo runs a camp in Nubra valley & as someone with Adv business exp, i grew curious of them & v began chit chatting. Political discussion followed & I asked abt Sonam & if he is aware of Rebecca, Sonam’s wife. Ladakhi guy rejected it, saying he is single & he knows that as he lives in same locality as Sonam. 

So how come Ladakhis are unaware of something so clear & why he rejected them as husband -wife. 

Check this 

1. Year is 1993- Rebecca Becky Norman- with not much available info on her family background- obtains a Bachelor degree from SIT (do check present leadership for their inclination sit.edu/about-us/leade… ) 

2. World is witnessing great upheavals & uncertainties; ME has just come out of Iraq war, erstwhile USSR is history & a new European country is born every few months with a major power block gone down the drain. India has a new Cong govt after killing of Rajiv Gandhi & country is coming out of a grave eco crisis. 

3. Amidst that turbulence, young American decides to sacrifice her great 

American dream & heads to Ladakh-an obscure, inhospitable & neglected region of the state witnessing Islamic terrorism & mass exodus of Hindus. 

4. In Ladakh, she decides to join SECMOL-Students’ Educational & Cultural Movement of Ladakh (SECMOL) -founded in 1988 by a group of Ladakhi students. One founder happens to be a son of a Congress leader. 

5. From the time of setting her foot in Ladakh,American continues working for SECMOL- at least that is what her LinkedIn says.

6. While in Ladakh, she learns Ladakhi language, positions herself as Ladakhi & manages to make a hero out of person whose organisation she joins, while continuing to be in the background. Indian media seems to be ignorant of her and never talks about her while showering glowing tributes on the man whose organisation she joins. 

7.  Year is 2008 & Sonia Gandhi has just returned from 2008 Olympics where she went with her son. While in China, the family also decides to sign a MoU with CPU. Come 2009 & India re-elects UPA & puts Cong firmly in the seat of Delhi.  Come December & Aamir Khan- whose movies would later start to do miraculously well in China- decides to make a movie 3 idiots & cultivates a hero of Phunsuk Wangdu, based on the life of the man behind SECMOL. He never touches the subject of Rebecca though. Come Dec 09 & movie does well at BO. 

8. The cult of Phungsuk Wangdu of 3 idiots led Indian media to discover Sonam Wangchuk & he became a celebrity overnight. But surprisingly, Rebecca remains in the background. 

9. BTW, Wangchuk’s int’l rise starts in 2002 when he is chosen as Ashoka fellow. It must be a coincidence that Rebecca goes back to Harvard for her M.Ed couple of years prior to Sonam chosen as Ashoka fellow. I’m not joining the dots here & merely placing all the cards of the table for you to draw ur own conclusions.

10. While Delhi media remains ignorant of Rebecca, even when it was busy promoting Sonam, Ladakhi media in 2020 interviews her in Ladakhi dialect. 11. And all along, Rebecca doesn’t forget her duty to vote back home and she does cast her vote for Biden while expressing her displeasure with Trump in 2020. 

12. 370 has been repealed and Ladakh is a UT now; Indian armed forces are lacked in an eye to eye contact on several fronts after Galwan. Congress, having an MoU with Chinese Communist party is busy spreading false narrative on India losing land to China in Ladakh etc.

13. Rahul Gandhi, with few foreigners, visits the lake that became known to Indians via 3 Idiots just as Sonam alias Wangdu.

13. 2023 and 2024: just in time for elections, our of nowhere, Sonam Wangchuk decides to launch an agitation in Ladakh spreading same propaganda that Cong is banking on for elections.
